Since 1984, FEPS provides international consultancy and scientific expertise on topics related to the fire behaviour of plastics, flame retardants and polymer markets, environmental aspects in the key technologies building & construction, mass transportation, electrical & electronic equipment, wire & cable, as well as upholstered furniture and textiles. In addition, FEPS offers particularly robust and easy-to-handle flammability testing equipment.

FEPS is owned by Dr. Jürgen Troitzsch, who gained his chemistry doctorate from Aachen Technical University and worked for 10 years on flame retardants, fire behavior of polymers and fire testing in research and R&D for a major chemical company.

Since, he is working worldwide as an expert with industry, associations, academic institutions, scientific councils, governmental authorities, organizations, and is a member of national and international committees. He has provided many studies and expert opinions, published numerous articles and reviews, and presented worldwide more than 200 papers at conferences on all aspects of fires, fire safety, polymers, flame retardants and the environment.

He participates in research projects, organizes and chairs international seminars, workshops and conferences, and is the author of the "Plastics Flammability Handbook".
